as for meee, it was hot girls night today, self care time, cooked dinner, skincared my face, sheet mask on and we put on A nonsense christmas with sabrina carpenter that just came out on Netflix for the vibees
Kev you need to watch it, like actually, a christmas carols feast, chappell roan, tyla, shania twain, kali uchis, my ears are in some downtown gold mine settling in for the vocals women served, it took me a big 50min to gulp down an entire dish with every pause my fork had to undergo, thats what christmas should sound like, jiggled all the bells now my hearts smiling and so shall urs
I got reminded of this animated movie we watched back in elementary school, I think I talked about it already, how they used to gather us all in one class before christmas holiday as we’d wrap it up in the dark, curtains closed, with one good christmas movie, hot chocolate and sweets as they’d turn on the movie projector, it was the cutest thing ever, we watched lots of movies along the years but this one is the one that stuck with me the most, I barely remember the other ones tbh
The polar express starring tom hanks, 2004, yet the animation is so good it’s almost scary lmao, a lil boy slowly doubting the magic and fables of Christmas who boards a train heading to the North Pole where santa resides, I was a few months old when it came out but u were kid enough so I hope lil u got the magic when it was time cause this really is a gift’s ribbon for a baby’s heart I feel saur warm rn
It’s just the way such animated movies turn such valuable yet simple lessons into a few little words, easy enough for a kid to naturally drink up and keep on one lil box up there, I just can’t forget any of it and its been more than 10y lmao

Anywayys, now im hungry, we have this tradition in France, you have pumpkin pie well we have La Galette des rois, it is a buttery puff pastry cake usually filled with frangipane which basically is a cream of sweet almonds (yeah we love almonds lmao), there’s multiple versions of it when it comes to the filling, sometimes it’s chocolate, apples or any fruits but tbh, I’ve never tried the others, frangipane remains the og and the most popular~
This is so good yet so stuffy, one slice and it’s enough to get u full lmao
We went by the Christian calendar so such traditions naturally follow, you can already find it in grocery stores early December until the end of January but, it is traditionally said to be eaten on the 6th January at epiphany
It is therefore said to celebrate the arrival of three wise men in Bethlehem, u must know more about it all than I do
I read epiphany equals to the festival of the winter solstice Romans used to celebrate, choosing a queen or a king for 24h by dint of a black or white bean hidden in a cake
In the Galette des rois (galette of kings), we have a fève, a lil porcelain figurine, throughout the years it became the best tradition for publicity, so you’d find them with themed characters from famous works, like Disney and stuff, lowkey cute lmao
I had my moment of glory when I was young (as in 6months old) and got the fève before my siblings came into the picture lmaooo
Yk how parents are, the little kid should be the one to be lied to, they’d cut the slices prior and look for the fève, it’s all euphoria time in the table to see who got which slice but at the end, we always make it so that the last little baby gets the gifted one lmao

So many horizons, an infinity of different ways to approach the world we think we know of, we all have our own perceptions and I find it mindblowing anytime I get to sit down at at grandiosity of the world we live in
This is not a big deal, this is something I feel like we should repeat ourselves once in a while, whatever it is, whatever you’re going through, this is not a big deal, we’ll manage it, we always do ♡
