The International School of Penang (Uplands) recently held our Year 7 Community Day — a meaningful opportunity for students to come together and explore ways to support the communities around them.
This year, students took action to support local wildlife by raising awareness and building bird boxes, which will soon be placed around the school
Students also identified concerns surrounding litter and environmental care. They wrote letters to the Chief Minister of Penang and took part in a beach clean-up, collecting an impressive 10.2kg of litter
Others focused on supporting our own school community by reaching out to Primary students and organising fun and engaging activities for the younger learners
The afternoon then turned to the Year 7 community itself, where our Year 7 student leaders did an outstanding job organising a carousel of student-led games filled with teamwork, energy, and enthusiasm
Community Day was truly a great success! A huge thank you to the many teachers who generously gave their time to supervise activities, and to the Year 7 Pastoral Team for guiding students throughout the process.
Well done Year 7 for demonstrating such fantastic community engagement, compassion, and initiative.

올해 학생들은 인식을 높이고 새 상자를 만들어 지역 야생동물을 지원하기 위한 조치를 취했으며, 곧 학교 주변에 설치될 예정입니다
학생들은 또한 쓰레기와 환경 관리에 관한 우려 사항도 확인했습니다. 학생들은 페낭 주 장관에게 편지를 쓰고 해변 청소에 참여하여 인상적인 10.2kg의 쓰레기를 수거했습니다
다른 사람들은 초등학생들에게 다가가 젊은 학습자들을 위한 재미있고 흥미로운 활동을 조직함으로써 우리 학교 공동체를 지원하는 데 중점을 두었습니다
오후에는 7학년 학생 지도자들이 팀워크, 에너지, 열정으로 가득 찬 학생 주도의 게임을 훌륭하게 조직한 7학년 커뮤니티로 돌아갔습니다
커뮤니티 데이는 정말 큰 성공이었습니다! 활동을 감독하는 데 아낌없이 시간을 내주신 많은 선생님들과 그 과정에서 학생들을 지도해 주신 7학년 목축팀에 큰 감사를 드립니다.
