Arlington, Va. (AP) - Its back to the '50s - at a famous memorial in Arlington Monday.
A Hollywood crew is filming a scene at the Iwo Jima memorial, for the movie "Flags of Our Fathers." The movie, directed by Clint Eastwood, is based on the James Bradley book by the same name. It tells the stories of the men who raised the flag at the Battle of Iwo Jima, a turning point in World War Two.
The scene being filmed Monday recreates the memorial's 1954 dedication by President Eisenhower. Some 500 local extras hired for the scene are costumed in dresses, suits and uniforms from the 1950s.
Filming is expected to take several hours.

헐리우드의 영화 스탭들이 영화 '우리 아버지들의 깃발(Flags Of Our Fathers)'의 한 장면을 여기서 촬영했다. 클린트 이스트우드가 감독하는 이 영화는 제임스 브래들리가 쓴 동명의 책에 기반하고 있다. 이 책은 2차대전의 전환점인 이오지마 전투에서 국기를 세웠던 병사들의 이야기를 소재로 하고 있다.
월요일의 촬영에서는 지난 1954년 아이젠하워 대통령이 참석한 이 기념비의 제막식이 재현되었다. 그 지역 출신의 엑스트라 500명이 1950년대에 쓰이던 드레스, 정장, 제복을 입고 촬영했다.
이 부분 촬영은 여러 시간이 걸릴 것으로 예상된다.
