Ok folks, here is the BSM 4.0.

Why so surprisingly?

Sorry, the mod isn't finished yet. A memory leak in the Empire engine forced me to give up at this state.
It makes no sense to add some more effects, because the Empire effects engine can't handle it (yet). You will propably notice that particle effects just disappear sometimes. The only solution for this problem is to restart the game to clear the memory. I can't do anything to solve this issue.

I hope there will be a solution for this soon, so i can do what i wanted to do and finish my work. I will keep the 3.1 up here for you all, if you aren't satisfied with this mod.


This version should not work perfectly with other mods, that changes the following db files:

  • projectile_tables
  • projectile_impacts_tables
  • projectiles_explosions_tables
  • particle_effects_tables

If you are using such a mod you will surely miss some new effects or the mod won't work. If you have a request for me to make this version compatible to other mods, please let me know and i will do what i can.

You need LtChambers fantastic Mod Manager to get this mod to work. This is surely the safest method to run the BSM without any troubles.

NEW Hotfix 2 07.07.2009

This Update replaces the old 1.2 projectile files with 1.3 projectile file.

So what's new?


First, the smoke mod is not compatible with the blood mod standalone!! That's the reason why bloodmod is included in the smoke mod. Please choose between smoke with blood (BSM) or just the blood without smoke (bloodmod 1.2).

Battlefield Smoke Mod full Version 4.0 (Includes the entire pack of mods, except Soundmod. needs Mod Manager)

Improvements:

  • increased performance for musketsmoke
  • different groundhit effects for landguns
  • different building hit effects for cannons
  • new puckle gun muzzle flash and groundhit effects
  • new and enhanced blood effects
  • new smoke trails and lingering smoke for rockets
  • new rocket explosion effects
  • reworked explosion effects with ground fire
  • new carcass ground fire effect
  • reworked ship explosion
  • cannonball trail effects
  • optional tracer remove mod for more realism
  • includes enhanced Bloodmod v1.2

The rar archive contains 2 mod files.

- mod_BSM_4_Full.pack -> the main BSM mod file

- mod_NoTrails.pack -> optional: removes the musket and cannonshot trails for more realism

Improvements:

  • same as for full version 4.0 except lingering smoke taken from Light version.

The rar archive contains 2 mod files.

- mod_BSM_4_medium.pack -> the main BSM mod file

- mod_NoTrails.pack -> optional: removes the musket and cannonshot trails for more realism

Improvements:

  • different groundhit effects for landguns

  • new and enhanced blood effects
  • new smoke trails and lingering smoke for rockets
  • new rocket explosion effects
  • reworked explosion effects with ground fire

  • includes enhanced Bloodmod v1.2

Some effects are not included in the Light Version 2.0, because it's a too heavy loss for the fps.

The Blood Mod v1.2 (Blood Only - No Smoke, not the enhanced version of BSM 4.0)

Improvements:

  • added blood puff for musket and cannshot hits
  • it's now compatible with the Mod Manager by LtChambers

For people having problems with the mod manager:

1. Make sure if you're using multiple mods, that the ones that aren't checked are moved to the bottom of the queue. Otherwise the manager attempts to load them and any mod placed after them doesn't get loaded.


Installation!

First, make sure, you have no other, older Version of Battlefield smoke mod or Blood mod installed.

Winrar is needed to extract files from *.rar archive.

You can get it here: http://www.win-rar.com/
You need also LtChambers Mod Manager: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=240335

The mod is compatible with LtChambers excellent Mod Manager. Just extract the modfile into your ">your steam folder<\steam apps\common\empire total war\data" folder and activate it with the Mod Manager.
Thanks to LtChambers for his help!
Please note! If the mod don't work, you can set the loading priority in the Mod Manager. Load the mod after all other mods, you have installed, to get sure.
