Top 10 Advertising Jingles

How many times have you walked into a Subway sandwich shop and started to sing their "$5 Footlong" song? Have you ever pulled up to the McDonalds drive-thru and instinctively hummed "I'm Lovin' It"? Those incessantly catchy jingles get into our heads and we just can't get them out! Aside from being great advertising methods, many product jingles have become part of our cultural consciousness. Are you looking for a list of commercial jingles that will remind you of the past? This article is an excellent means to reminisce! We’ve focused on popular food and drink songs from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. Enjoy!

10.) Fanta: "Wanna Fanta, Don’t You Wanna?" The Fanta girls, known to fans as "The Fantanas", took the world by storm in 2002. Their infectious cry of "Wanna Fanta, don't you wanna?" personifies effective company advertising. Each member of The Fantanas represents a Fanta flavor (strawberry, orange, pineapple, and grape), and the luscious ladies proved to be so popular that they even have their own MadTV parody and many girls dress up as them every Halloween. 9.) Wrigley’s Doublemint Gum: "Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Fun" The twins! Who could forget the commercials that featured frolicking sets of twins and peppy background singers that used every "double" pun in existence? This super-catchy jingle tends to seep into your brain until you catch yourself singing it over and over again! 8.) Quiznos Sub: "We Love the Subs!" This 2003 product jingle is definitely a dark horse candidate! Most people remember the creepy commercials with the horrific gerbil hybrids in hats (what WERE those things, anyway?) screeching unintelligibly that they loved subs. Even though the singing rodents were a little bit scary, you can’t possibly deny that they were memorable and that the song was kind of catchy in a strange way. These commercial spots managed to work wonders for Quiznos; believe it or not, many people had never heard of the restaurant chain before hearing the jingles! 7.) Chicken Tonight: "I Feel Like Chicken Tonight" We dare you to try to think of the 1990s "Chicken Tonight" jingle without subconsciously flapping your arms. It's difficult, isn't it? This jingle is one of the most memorable advertising slogans ever! Just imagine how popular Chicken Tonight’s ad campaign would have been if they’d given away chicken stress balls to promote the infectious jingle! 6.) Chili's Baby Back Ribs: "Chili's (Welcome to Chili's!)" Sing with me now: "I want my baby back baby back baby back...ribs. I want my baby back baby back baby back...ribs. I want my..." This Chili's jingle is probably the catchiest song on the list, and it may also be the most integrated into popular culture. 'N Sync, Austin Powers, and the TV shows "Scrubs" and "The Office" are just a few who have parodied the famous commercial tune. It seems likely that from now until the end of time, the phrase "I want my baby back" will be instantly followed with another person chiming in with "Baby back baby back baby back..." 5.) Mentos: "The Freshmaker" Did you break a heel on your shoe? Or perhaps you accidentally sat in wet paint? Never fear! With the help of Mentos, all will be well. The unforgettably-campy mid-90s Mentos commercials were flawlessly parodied in the Foo Fighters video "Big Me", which could have easily passed for a Mentos commercial had it featured the brutally catchy jingle. Dr. Pepper: "Wouldn’t You Like to Be a Pepper, Too?" Who's a Pepper? Me? You? That guy over there? It seems so! Those happy-go-lucky commercials, which debuted in the 1970s, sure made being a Pepper seem like a lot of fun. Even though it is unclear what being a Pepper entails, you can't help but get sucked in to their unbridled enthusiasm. You may be surprised to learn that the Dr. Pepper brand still associates itself with this commercial jingle—and they even sell imprinted mugs, bowls, t-shirts, and all sorts of custom merchandise featuring the famous tagline! 3.) McDonalds: "You Deserve a Break Today" Almost always (incorrectly) attributed to Barry Manilow, McDonald's best-loved jingle was in fact written by singer-songwriter Kenny Karen. McDonald's used the memorable jingle on and off for three decades in all sorts of advertising mediums. Do you remember this famous advertisement? 2.) Oscar Mayer: "My Bologna Has a First Name" and "If I Were an Oscar Mayer Wiener" Oscar Mayer has TWO equally catchy and beloved jingles. Of course, everyone knows "if I were an Oscar Mayer wiener, everyone would be in love with me," but there is also the jingle that makes it clear that Oscar Mayer has a way with B-O-L-O-G-N-A. Make way for the Wienermobile! Be sure to feed your nostalgia and listen to both of these commercial jingles. 1.) Coca-Cola Company: "I'd Like to Buy The World A Coke"
Peace. Love. Happiness. The sharing of cola. What's not to love?
Coca-Cola's awesomely-groovy anthem of brotherhood was so popular that it became a best selling single (minus the Coke references). Sure, this iconic commercial might be a bit feel-good for some tastes, but when you see a group of people standing in a meadow singing about togetherness, don't you just want to give the person next to you a hug? Or better yet, buy them a Coke (or a logo-imprinted bottle holder)?
