How can you change the shape and size of solids?
You can change the shape and size of some solids.
You can bend or fold them.
You can cut or tear some solids into small pieces, too.

When you change the shape of a solid, it may look different,
but it is still made out of the same thing.
When you cut an apple, you have smaller pieces, but it is still an apple.
고체의 모양을 바꾸면 겉모습은 달라 보일 수 있지만,
여전히 같은 물질로 이루어져 있어요.
사과를 자르면 작은 조각이 되지만, 그래도 여전히 사과이에요.
How did each solid change? How did each solid stay the same?
The chenille stick was bent many different ways, but it is still a chenille stick.
The apple was cut into many pieces, but it is still an apple.

When you mix things together, the things do not change.
You can mix different beads in a jar.
Then you can take each one out.
You will see that the beads did not change.
여러 가지를 함께 섞어도, 그 물질들은 변하지 않아요.
병 안에 다른 구슬들을 섞을 수 있어요.
그러고 나서 구슬을 하나씩 꺼낼 수 있지요.
