MANDIBLE: As I was saying, son, you are an ant / after my own heart. An ant / that looks death in the face and laughs.

    * after one's own heart : 마음에 드는. ex) She is a woman after my own heart.

    * look : … 한 표정을 짓다. ex) He looked his sadness[his joy].

Z: Well, actually, the truth is I.. I generally just make belittling comments and snicker behind death's back.

Queen: General Mandible.

MANDIBLE: Keep your comments to yourself. Let me do the talking.

....

MANDIBLE: May I present Her Majesty the Queen?

    * Her[His] Majesty : 폐하. ☞ 직접 부를 때는 Your Majesty라고 해야 함. cf) Your honor!

Z: Charmed. Charmed.

    * charmed : [口] 기쁘게 생각하여. ex) I shall be charmed to see you tomorrow.

MANDIBLE: And Royal Princess Bala?

Z: [Growls]

Queen: Welcome home, soldier. We cannot begin to express our gratitude for your heroic efforts.

MANDIBLE: The private has asked me to convey his most humble appreciation / for the...

    * private : 이등병. 군의 졸병. cf) officer : 군의 장교; 경찰관.

    * humble : 겸손한, 겸허한.

    * appreciation : 감사.

Z: Please. Please. It was nothing really. Just your average, run-of-the-mill valor and extraordinary courageousness, you know. In the heat of battle, there's.. there's very little time to think. You know, one must attack! Attack! Attack!

    * run-of-the-mill : 보통의, 평범한.

    * valor : [文] (특히 싸움터에서의) 용맹함.

    * extraordinary : 비범한. ☞ ‘용기’는 대단해야 한다는 의미.

    * in the heat of : 한창 --인 때에.

MANDIBLE: Well, indeed. As you can see, Your Highness, the battlefield is still fresh in his mind. So, begging your pardon, but I think this is the perfect time / to debrief the private.

    * begging your pardon, but ... : I beg your pardon, but(죄송합니다만)의 구어체 표현.

    * debrief : --의 보고를 듣다.

Z: Oh, please, General. Not on our first date. Not on our first date.

    * Not on our first date : 오늘 귀환했으니까 나중에 하죠. cf) Not now (지금은 말고요).

BALA: Haven't I seen you somewhere before?

Z: Well, maybe. And then again, maybe not. And then .. then again.. yowch.

    * then again : 그렇지만 또.

BALA: That's it! You're the guy from the bar.

Z: Don't ... Shh.

Queen: Bar? What bar?

BALA: I danced with this guy / at the bar / the other night. He was just a worker / then.

    * the other night : 요 며칠 전 밤에.

Queen: What were you doing / at a bar?

MANDIBLE: Precisely what I want to know.

   ☞ (That's) Precisely ....

    * precisely : 정확히.

BALA: No. This isn't about me. I mean, look at this worker. Look what he's done.

   ☞ Look what he has done. [기본반에서 배운 Look who's talking. / Look who's here.

Z: I think / you're thinking of someone else. After all, I am a soldier.

BALA: Exactly. You were a worker. But now, you're a war hero.

Queen: He's a worker?

MANDIBLE: A worker danced with my fiancee?

Z: F.. Fiancee? W.. W.. Wait a minute. This is not how it looks. I can explain this. Hey. She was the one / making all the moves.

   ☞ This is not how it looks : 이번 일은 겉으로 보이는 대로가 아니다, 본질은 다르다.

   ☞ She was the one making all the moves : 그녀가 모든 일을 만들어낸[행동을 저지른] 장본인이다.

MANDIBLE: Arrest him!

Z: H.. Hey, wait a minute. Take it easy. Can't we discuss this?

Queen: What are you doing? Let go of my daughter. He's taking her hostage!

    * let go of : --을 놓아주다.

    * take sb. hostage : --을 인질로 붙잡다.

Z: No. No. I'm not. I mean, yes, yes, I am. One more step and then the princess gets it.

   ☞ I'm not (taking her hostage).

   ☞ One more step and ...

   ☞ get it : =be killed.

BALA: Let go of me!

Z: Ow! Don't make me hurt her!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BALA: Oh. What are you doing, you creep? Are you out of your puny little mind?

Soldier: There they are! Down there! Let's go. Move. Move. Move.

BALA: Oh, good. Here they come to rescue me and kill you.

   ☞ Here they come : Here come they가 아님에 주의.

Z: Kill?

BALA: Hey, you guys!

Z: Stop it. Stop it. What are you trying to do?

BALA: Get off me, you little twerp!

    *twerp : [口] 너절한 놈.

Z: What do you want to do? (Do you want) Throw away everything we've got?

   ☞ everything we've got : 우리가 가진 모든 것. 특히, 개미 땅굴에서 벗어난 자유.

BALA: [to soldiers] What're you waiting for? Hello. Guys.

Soldier1: Huh? What is it?

....

Soldier2: It's beautiful.

Soldier3: Ridgeway, get out of there!
