Ladybug: This stuff tastes like crap.

Beetle: Really? Let me try some. Hey, it is crap. Not bad. .... Somebody needs to feed that fire.

Mosquito: Dude, I did it / last time.

Beetle: I'm not gonna get it. It's not my job.

    * I'm gonna get it. : =I'll get it.

Ladybug: What about the new guy? He hasn't contributed yet.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Z: And .. you know, he just died / in my arms / like that. I.. you know, I don't think / he (ever once in his life) made his own choice.

   ☞ he just died : he는 Barbatus를 가리킴.

    * ever once in his life :

BALA: I never knew / it was like that, I mean, up in the palace. Well, I guess / we just let the general make all the decisions.

Z: Let me ask you something. What made you come to the bar / that night?

BALA: I guess I was looking for a little trouble.

   ☞ a little trouble : 좀 문제가 될 만한 일.

Z: Well, trouble's my middle name. Actually, my middle name is Marion, but, uh, I don't want you to spread that around.

   ☞ trouble's my middle name : ‘문제’는 내 전매특허에요.

    * spread around : 소문내다.

BALA: You're pretty strange. You do know that, don't you?

Z: Well, strange's not exactly the word / I would use. You know...

   ☞ strange's : strange라는 단어는.

   ☞ not exactly the word I would use :

BALA: I like it. You're not like anyone else.

   ☞ 앞의 like는 동사.

Z: Actually, now that you mention it, there is a certain strangeness to me. I mean, it's a, you know, kind of a bizarre quality. Some have said "freak." But it's, uh, you know, complimentary.

    * now that : ~이니까 (하는 말인데).

    * bizarre : 별난.

    * quality : 성질, 특징.

    *  * freak : 이상야릇한, 별스러운.

    * complimentary : 칭찬의, 칭찬하는.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beetle: Hey, new guy. We need more wood.

Z: [to Bala] I'll be right back. Just hold that thought, whatever it is, you were thinking.

   ☞ whatever it is = no matter what it is.

   ☞ that thought (that) you were thinking.

....

Z: [to beetle, ladybug, mosquito] Hey, you ever wonder / why they call you guys "pests"?

....

Mosquito: What if, like, we're just these tiny little things and we're just, like, part of this whole other huge universe / that's, like, so big (that) we don't even know (that) it exists?

   ☞ 세 개의 that 중에서 맨 앞의 that은 관계대명사로서, this whole other huge universe를 선행사로 함.

   ☞ so big 다음에는 that 생략된 ‘결과’의 so that 구문.

Ladybug: Man, that is so deep.

    * deep : 난해한, 심오한(profound).

....

Z: Perfect. Nothing like a little manual labor / on the most romantic night of my life.

   ☞ (There is) Nothing like ...

....

CUTTER: Hi. I was in the neighborhood and I thought I'd drop in. This is, uh, very bohemian.

Mosquito: Aloha, dude. Welcome to Insec... [Groans]

CUTTER: Sorry for interrupting. You see, our princess has, uh, gone missing and we're just sick about it. She's about yea tall, fairly easy on the eyes. Anybody seen her?

    * You see : 실은 말야.

    * go missing : 실종되다.

    * sick : 괴롭게 여기어(about).

    * yea big[high] : [俗] (손을 펼치며) 이렇게[이 정도] 큰[높은].

    * fairly : 꽤, 매우.

    * easy : 부드러운, 완만한.

   ☞ (Has) Anybody seen her?

All: That's her.

CUTTER: Don't worry, Princess, you'll be back home soon.

BALA: Listen, Cutter, I'm.. I'm not going back.

CUTTER: The thing is, Princess, I got orders.

    * The thing is : 중요한 것은.

BALA: Orders? Can't you just once think for yourself?

CUTTER: Well, that was very impressive. Where's Z?

Beetle: Z? He's, uh..

BALA: Dead. Z's dead. You don't need to worry about him.

CUTTER: Z's Dead? Well, he was an ant with ideas. Too bad for him. Princess, your colony needs you.

   ☞ he was an ant with ideas ...
