In the middle of Kyongju city, Panwolsung Castle which remains high

with the shape of crescent, is one of the Shilla's palace ruins.

With Namshun shielding in front, and overlooking Namchun shielding

in the distance, Panwolsung Castle was geographically import!ant fortress.

Following down Panwolsung Castle , Kyerim Forest has a birth fable of

Kim Al ji, the founder of the Kims.

The story goes like this. When King Talhae went over the woods after the

sound of chicken, he found gold box hanging from a brach of a tree and

below that, white chicken was weeping.

It was Kim Al ji who came out of the box.

Before Kyerim Forest, Chomsongdae Observatory is one of the oldest

astronomical Observatory of its kind in East-Asia.

The observatory  consists of 362 stones which mean the days of a year

and 28 stone layers of the number of basic stars.




 

경주시 한가운데에 반달 모양의 높은 터로 남아 있는 반월성은 신라의

궁궐터이다. 앞으로 남천을 방패로 삼고 멀리 남산성을 바라보는 곳에

자리잡은 반월성은 지리적으로 매우 중요한 요새였다.

반월성에 이어지는 계림에는 김씨의 시조인 감알지의 탄생설화가 깃들어 있다.

탈해왕이 숲 속에서 닭울음 소리가 나서 가 보니, 황금궤짝이 나뭇가지에

걸려 있고 그 아래 흰닭이 울고 있었다.

그 궤짝에서 나온 아이가 바로 김알지이다.

계림 앞에 선 첨성대는 동양에서 가장 오래된 천문대로 알려져 있다.

첨성대를 쌓은 돌의 수는 일년의 날수인 362개이며, 석단은 기본 별자리수인

28단으로 이루어져 있다.
