PAY RANGE:
KWB-6: Between 16,545 and 23,700 Won per hour
KWB-8: Between 18,274 and 26,257 Won per hour
TOUR OF DUTY: 40 hours per week
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All current USFK KN employees
NOTE: 1. Target grade of this position is KWB-8. If the position is filled at the lower grade than target grade, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to target grade non-competitively upon satisfactory completion of the job requirements, recommendation by the supervisor, and subject to meeting time-in-grade and qualification requirements. 2. Under the Yongsan Relocation Plan (YRP), individual moves of the selectee from Area II to other Areas will be authorized by the YRP moving services processes as stipulated in Civilian Human Resources Transformation Guidance. 3. Relocation allowance will be authorized for the selectee from Area II and IMCOM, Area I if applicable and all requirements in paragraph 8-13 (Relocation Allowance) of USFK regulation 690-1 are met. 4. This position has been designated as KN MISSION ESSENTIAL. KN ME Position Agreement Form (USFK Form 200EK) must be signed prior to appointment of the selectee for this position.
MAJOR DUTIES:
KWB-8: Inspects, tests, and diagnoses aircraft electrical systems to determine location, cause, and nature of malfunctions. Performs functional shop test and adjustment of aircraft electrical system components and assemblies such as generators, reverse current relays, voltage regulators, overvoltage and field controls, inverters, inverter control and changeover relays, starters, fire detectors, high and low tension mangetos, auxiliary ignition devices, electrical flap, trim and landing gear actuators, and remote controlled searchlights and winches. Inspects and repairs aircraft interior lighting and navigation, formation, and landing light systems. Examines aircraft electrical and ignition systems components by disassembly, replacement and repair of defective parts, reassembly of components, and tests adjustment and run-in to assure prescribed performance. Performs periodic maintenance checks and repair of specialized aircraft electrical test equipment. Posts necessary records and forms indicating maintenance performed. Lists parts and supplies to be requisitioned. Cleans and maintains tools and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions: Work inside on concrete floors where areas are occasionally drafty and damp. Occasionally works outside. Subject to cuts and abrasions from use of tools and equipment and to falls from aircraft of platforms. Work is dirty and greasy and unpleasantly noisy. Moderately heavy physical efforts is required in the frequent use of tiring work positions while handling tools and in occasional lifting of heavy objects. Most heavy lifting is accomplished through use of mechanical devices.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
KWB-6: One year of general experience.
KWB-8: One year of general experience plus one year of specialized experience.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Actual work experience at a trainee, helper or other work related to the trade or craft for which being considered.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience at the "Junior" or higher level in the work related to trade or craft for which being considered.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCY: The approval of management panel to determine English conversational skill is required.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: 1. Graduation from technical high school in the field, successful completion of a formal training course (at least 90 days duration) or possession of a valid license or certificate of competency issued by the ROKG may be substituted for required one year of general experience. 2. Graduation from technical junior college in the field or possession of an industrial engineer (산업기사) license of competency issued by the ROKG may be substituted for required one year of general and one year of specialized experience.
