Reflexión sobre su Participación en el Seminario de México
✨⚔️ Un viaje de aprendizaje, energía y gratitud en México ⚔️✨
Tuve el privilegio de estar en la Ciudad de México compartiendo un seminario con el gran Maestro Jeong Seong Kim, una experiencia que sin duda quedará marcada en mi camino en las artes marciales y, especialmente, en el manejo de la espada. 🙏 (HAEDONG KUMDO)
Este viaje fue mucho más que técnicas y movimientos: fue un despertar de entendimiento. Descubrimos que la espada no se trata únicamente de precisión o fuerza, sino de comprender que cada movimiento encierra un flujo de energía circular, continuo y armonioso. Esa energía conecta cuerpo, mente y espíritu en una sola dirección, recordándonos que la espada es, en realidad, una extensión de nuestro ser.
En en examen para mi fue algo especial, llevaba tiempo sin sentirme tan nervioso, pero al mirar al maestro kim desde lejos siempre veia en su corazon en paz, eso genero en todos lo que estabamos alli confianza.
En una de las pruebas se debia cortar papel en dos direcciones (horizontal y vertical) en el horizontal falle, pero el maestro dice dale nuevamente, eso en mi genero algo especial porque entendia que no son las veces que fallas, sino las veces que lo intentas hasta lograrlo.
Ya despues de las formas con una espada y con dos espadas fue algo unico, pero lo que mas disfrute fue el combate con mi amigo el profe Giovany, su energia al momento del examen excelente, cada punto o golpe con la espada lo disfrute. Al finalizar la satisfaccion de lograr pasar el grado DAN fue especial, pero fue mucho que el maestro kim me nombra representante en colombia eso en mi genero muchas cosas:

> Compromiso
>Fidelidad
> Conciencia
Bueno fue ese dia del entrenamiento Intensivo algo UNICO.
El dia Jueves estuvimos con la familia del maestro Jair, (Representante en Mexico) en Tepoztlan en un pueblo muy bonito con su arquitectura, pero lo mas desafiante fue la subida a unas pirades, fueron dos hora de recorrido subiendo la montana, no fue facil, en el camino pensaba tanta cosas, pero sin duda lo que mas me repetia era, puedes lograrlo, puedes llegar, se puede, al maestro kim lo perdi de vista jajaja camina muy rapido. Pero pensaba y decia es mas facil devolverme y dejar asi, en la vida pasan esas cosas, pero no todos estan dispuestos a seguir, por eso dije ya el maestro nos mostro que se puede con el ejemplo.
Al llegar arriba a la cima fue algo majestuoso, sus arquitecturas, paisajes, energia, la imagen del jaguar, todo en realidad fue un antes y un despues, la lluvia que ese dia fue un regalo DIOS, fue una bendicion porque nos decían que era un regalo y la verdad lo fue.
Al desender fue igual, ya no vi mas al maestro jaja camina super rapido, pero sabia que el queria cafe con leche. El descenso fue muy mas rapido y al llegar al pueblo pudimos tomarnos ese cafe y fue super rico.
Fue un lugar lleno de historia, energía y grandeza. Estar allí, contemplar la majestuosidad de esas construcciones y sentir el espíritu de una cultura milenaria, fue algo verdaderamente maravilloso. Fue como un recordatorio de que el camino marcial no se recorre solo con el cuerpo, sino también con el corazón abierto a nuevas experiencias.
Ya en los dias 1-2 del seminario fue un aprendizaje constante el aprender directamente del maestro kim cambio la prespectiva de todo en el KUMDO, entender su forma de ver las cosas, la energia, la sanacion, cada correccion la valore mucho. Hace que uno como discipulo crezca en todas las areas, el compartir en la casa con todos lo disfrute mucho, estuvimos hablando de tantas cosas que me quedo corto en estos parrafos para describir todo. Tuve que grabar lo que mas podia, era mucha la informacion pero tambien era mucho el aprendizaje hasta de HAPKIDO me enseno.
Durante el seminario el maestro me decia preguntame lo que necesites, para mi fue algo que me marco, porque eso hace un maestro *guia en todo momento*. Tambien tuvimos la oportunidad de ver como DIOS lo usa para sanacion, hasta mi pareja LIZ recibio sanacion, ella me expresaba: me siento diferente, me sono la espalda, se me quito el dolor y verlo ayudar a otros en todo momento, fue algo que me recordaba que venimos a servir y no hacer servidos, todo el tiempo, hasta el ultimo dia a la
Suegra del maestro jair, ayudo. La verdad nuestra estadia en mexico en el seminario no lo vamos a olvidar.
Quiero expresar un profundo agradecimiento al Maestro Kim, quien con paciencia, disciplina y gran sabiduría nos guió en este proceso. Sus enseñanzas no solo fortalecieron nuestro conocimiento técnico, sino también la comprensión de la esencia espiritual y energética que hay detrás de cada corte, cada giro y cada movimiento.

I had the privilege of being in Mexico City to share a seminar with the great Master Jeong Seong Kim, an experience that will undoubtedly remain a milestone in my martial arts journey, especially in the art of swordsmanship. 🙏 (Haedong Kumdo)
This trip was much more than just techniques and movements — it was an awakening of understanding.
We discovered that the sword is not merely about precision or strength, but about realizing that each movement contains a continuous, circular, and harmonious flow of energy.
That energy connects the body, mind, and spirit in one direction, reminding us that the sword is truly an extension of our being.
During the test, I felt something special. It had been a long time since I was that nervous. But when I looked at Master Kim from afar, I always saw peace in his heart — and that gave confidence to all of us who were there.
In one of the tests, I had to cut paper in two directions (horizontal and vertical). I failed the horizontal cut, but Master Kim said, “Try again.”
That moment meant something special to me — I understood that what matters is not how many times you fail, but how many times you try until you succeed.
Afterward, performing the forms with one sword and two swords was a unique experience, but what I enjoyed the most was sparring with my friend Professor Giovany. His energy during the test was excellent, and every strike and movement was pure joy.
At the end, the satisfaction of achieving my Dan level was very special. But even more, when Master Kim appointed me as the representative of Colombia, it awakened many things in me:

That day of intensive training was truly unique.
On Thursday, we spent the day with the family of Master Jair (the representative in Mexico) in Tepoztlán, a beautiful town full of character and traditional architecture.
The most challenging part was climbing the pyramid mountain — a two-hour hike uphill! It wasn’t easy. Along the way, many thoughts crossed my mind, but one kept repeating: “You can do it. You can reach it. It’s possible.”
At one point, I lost sight of Master Kim (he walks very fast! 😄). I thought about turning back — that it would be easier to quit — but I realized that in life, not everyone keeps going.
Master Kim had already shown us by example that it is possible.
When we finally reached the top, it was majestic — the architecture, the scenery, the energy, the image of the jaguar — it all marked a before and after in my heart.
And then, it started to rain — a true gift from God. The locals told us the rain was a blessing, and indeed it was.
On the way down, I again couldn’t see Master Kim (he walks super fast! 😄) — but I knew he wanted coffee with milk. The descent was much quicker, and when we reached the town, we enjoyed that cup of coffee — it was perfect.
It was a place full of history, energy, and greatness.
Being there, admiring the majesty of those ancient constructions and feeling the spirit of a millenary culture, was truly wonderful — a reminder that the martial path is not traveled only with the body, but with a heart open to new experiences.
During the first two days of the seminar, it was a time of constant learning.
Learning directly from Master Kim changed my entire perspective on Kumdo — understanding his view of energy, healing, and the meaning behind every correction.
It made me grow as a disciple in every aspect.
Sharing time at the house with everyone was something I deeply enjoyed — we talked about so many things that I couldn’t describe them all here.
I tried to record as much as I could; there was so much knowledge and learning — he even taught me about Hapkido!
During the seminar, Master Kim told me: “Ask me whatever you need.”
That marked me deeply, because that is what a true Master does — a guide at all times.
We also witnessed how God uses him for healing. Even my partner Liz received healing — she told me, “I feel different, my back cracked, and the pain is gone.”
Seeing him help others at every moment reminded me that we are here to serve, not to be served.
Even on the last day, he helped Master Jair’s mother-in-law.
Truly, our stay in Mexico and the seminar are memories we will never forget.
I want to express my deep gratitude to Master Kim, who with patience, discipline, and great wisdom guided us through this process.
His teachings not only strengthened our technical knowledge but also deepened our understanding of the spiritual and energetic essence behind each cut, each turn, and each movement.

나는 이번에 멕시코시티에서 김정성 총재님과 함께 세미나에 참여하는 특권을 누렸다.
이 경험은 내 무술 인생, 특히 검술(해동검도) 수련의 길에서 잊을 수 없는 큰 전환점으로 남게 되었다. 🙏
이번 여정은 단순한 기술이나 동작을 배우는 것을 넘어, 깊은 깨달음의 시작이었다.
우리는 검이 단순히 정확도나 힘의 문제가 아니라, 모든 동작 속에 하나의 순환적이고 조화로운 에너지 흐름이 존재한다는 것을 배웠다.
그 에너지는 몸과 마음과 영혼을 하나로 연결시켜 주며, 검이란 결국 우리 존재의 연장선임을 일깨워 주었다.
심사 때는 오랜만에 떨림을 느꼈다. 하지만 멀리서 김 총재님을 바라볼 때마다 그분의 마음속 평화가 느껴졌고, 그 평화가 우리 모두에게 믿음과 안정감을 주었다.
종이 자르기 시험에서 가로 방향으로 자르는 부분에 실패했지만, 총재님께서 “한 번 더 해보라”고 하셨다.
그 한마디가 내게 큰 울림을 주었다. 실패의 횟수가 중요한 것이 아니라, 성공할 때까지 포기하지 않고 도전하는 횟수가 중요하다는 것을 깨달았다.
이후 단검과 쌍검 품새를 수련하는 시간은 매우 독특했고,
특히 내 친구 조반니 교수와의 대련이 정말 즐거웠다.
검이 부딪히는 모든 순간이 기쁨이었고, 단 심사를 통과한 후의 성취감은 말로 표현하기 어려웠다.
그러나 그보다 더 특별했던 것은, 김 총재님께서 나를 콜롬비아 대표로 임명해 주신 순간이었다.
그때 내 마음속에는 다음과 같은 다짐이 새겨졌다.

그날의 집중 수련은 정말 특별한 하루였다.
목요일에는 멕시코 대표 자이르 사범의 가족과 함께 테포즐란(Tepoztlán)에 갔다.
전통 건축이 아름다운 마을이었지만, 무엇보다 도전이었던 것은 피라미드 산 정상까지의 등반이었다.
두 시간 동안 계속된 오르막길은 쉽지 않았다.
“할 수 있다, 도달할 수 있다, 가능하다”는 말을 계속 마음속으로 되뇌었다.
총재님은 너무 빨리 걸으셔서 중간에 시야에서 사라지셨다 😄
순간 ‘이쯤에서 돌아갈까’라는 생각도 들었지만, 삶에서도 그렇듯 끝까지 나아가는 자만이 진정한 길을 걷는다는 깨달음을 얻었다.
총재님께서는 이미 그 모습을 몸소 보여주셨다.
정상에 도착했을 때, 눈앞의 경치는 정말 장엄했다.
고대 건축물, 풍경, 재규어 형상, 모든 것이 압도적이었고,
마침 내린 비는 신의 축복처럼 느껴졌다.
하산길에서도 총재님은 다시 안 보이셨다 😄
하지만 ‘총재님은 분명 커피와 우유를 원하실 거야’라고 생각하며 내려왔다.
마을로 돌아와 함께 마신 커피 한 잔은 정말 특별했다.
그곳은 역사와 에너지, 그리고 위대함이 깃든 장소였다.
그 문명과 영혼의 숨결을 직접 느끼며,
무도의 길이 단순히 몸으로 걷는 길이 아니라, 열린 마음으로 체험하는 여정임을 새삼 깨달았다.
세미나 첫날과 둘째 날은 끊임없는 배움의 연속이었다.
김 총재님께 직접 배우면서 해동검도 전체를 바라보는 시각이 완전히 달라졌다.
에너지와 치유, 모든 교정의 의미를 깊이 이해하게 되었고, 그것이 제자로서 내 전인적 성장을 이끌었다.
세미나가 끝난 뒤에도 함께 모여 이야기를 나누는 시간이 참 소중했다.
너무 많은 것을 배워서 모두 다 적을 수 없을 정도다.
심지어 총재님은 합기도(Hapkido) 에 대해서도 가르쳐 주셨다.
세미나 중 총재님은 내게 말씀하셨다.
“필요한 것이 있으면 언제든 물어보라.”
그 말은 내게 깊은 인상을 남겼다.
진정한 스승이란 언제나 제자를 인도하는 존재라는 것을 깨달았다.
또한 우리는 총재님을 통해 신의 치유의 손길을 직접 목격했다.
내 아내 리즈(Liz) 역시 치유를 받았고,
그녀는 “등이 시원하게 열리고 통증이 사라졌다”고 말했다.
그 모습을 보며, 우리가 이 세상에 온 이유는 ‘받기 위해서가 아니라, 봉사하기 위해서’라는 진리를 다시금 느꼈다.
마지막 날까지도 총재님은 자이르 사범의 장모님을 도와주셨다.
이번 멕시코 세미나의 체험은 결코 잊을 수 없는 소중한 추억으로 남을 것이다.
끝으로, 나는 김정성 총재님께 깊은 감사의 마음을 전하고 싶다.
그분의 인내, 규율, 그리고 깊은 지혜로 우리를 이끌어 주셨고,
그 가르침은 단지 기술의 향상뿐 아니라, 모든 베기와 회전, 움직임 뒤에 숨겨진 영적·에너지적 본질을 깨닫게 해주셨다.

De igual manera, mi gratitud a la gran familia de HAEDONG KUMDO en México, la familia del profe JAIR y su familia quienes nos recibieron con un cariño inmenso. La hermandad que sentimos desde el primer momento hasta el último día fue un regalo invaluable. Gracias por abrirnos sus puertas, por hacernos sentir en casa y por compartir con nosotros no solo la práctica, sino también la alegría de pertenecer a una misma familia marcial.
Cada instante, desde nuestra llegada hasta la despedida, estuvo cargado de aprendizaje, compañerismo y gratitud. Nos llevamos no solo nuevas técnicas, sino también la motivación de seguir creciendo en este arte, entendiendo que el verdadero dominio de la espada es un viaje que nunca termina.
A la familia Haedong Kumdo en México, a mis compañeros de práctica y al Maestro Kim gracias por tanto. Este es apenas un paso más en el camino, pero sin duda uno que fortalece nuestra convicción, disciplina y amor por el arte de la espada. ⚔️✨
El aprendizaje continúa, y con él, nuestro compromiso de crecer, compartir y honrar este legado.
