오직 숨결
기독교도, 유대인도, 무슬림도, 힌두교,
불교도, 수피도, 선교도. 어떤 종교나 문화 체계도 아닙니다.
나는 동쪽이나 서쪽 출신, 바다에서 나온 것도 아니고
땅에서 올라온 것도 아니고, 자연스럽거나 천상의 존재도 아니며,
전혀 원소로 이루어져 있지 않다.
나는 존재하지 않으며,
이 세상이나 저세상의 존재가 아니며,
아담과 이브나 어떤
기원 이야기에서 내려온 것도 아니다.
내 자리는 자리 없이, 흔적도 없는 흔적의 흔적뿐이다.
몸도 영혼도 아니에요.
나는 사랑받는 이의 일부이며,
두
세계를 하나로 보았으며, 그 한 가지 부름을 알고 있다.
첫째, 마지막, 외부, 내면, 오직
그 숨 쉬는 인간만을 안다.
Only Breath
Not Christian or Jew or Muslim, not Hindu
Buddhist, sufi, or zen. Not any religion
or cultural system. I am not from the East
or the West, not out of the ocean or up
from the ground, not natural or ethereal, not
composed of elements at all. I do not exist,
am not an entity in this world or in the next,
did not descend from Adam and Eve or any
origin story. My place is placeless, a trace
of the traceless. Neither body or soul.
I belong to the beloved, have seen the two
worlds as one and that one call to and know,
first, last, outer, inner, only that
breath breathing human being.
