7. 又不親近求聲聞比丘比丘尼 優婆塞優婆夷 亦不問訊 若於房中 若徑行處 若在講堂中 不共住止 或時來者 隨宜說法 無所希求
또 성문승을 구하는 비구 비구니 우바새 우바이들을 친근하지도 말고 문안하지도 말아야 하느니라. 방안에서나 거닐 때에나 강당에서도 함께 있지도 말라. 혹시 찾아오더라도 적당하게 법을 말하여 줄 뿐 바라는 일이 없어야 하느니라.
Again one should not associate with monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen who seek to become voice-hearers, nor should one question or visit them. One should not stay with them in the same room, or in the place where one exercises, or in the lecture hall. One should not join them in their activities. If at times they come to one, one may preach the Law in accordance with what is appropriate, but should expect nothing from it.
