41-4.
一切世間諸群生 少有欲求聲聞乘
求獨覺者轉復少 趣大乘者甚難遇
일체 세간의 모든 군생이
성문승을 구하고자 하는 이는 조금 있으며
독각을 구하는 자는 더욱 다시 적으며
대승에 나아가는 자는 심히 만나기 어렵도다.
Among the creatures of all worlds
Are few who want to seek the vehicle of Buddha’s followers;
Those who seek solitary enlightenment are even fewer,
And those who aim for the Great Vehicle are very hard to find.
Among the creatures; 모든 군생이
of all worlds; 일체 세간의
Are few who want to seek
; 구하고자 하는 이는 조금 있으며
the vehicle of Buddha’s followers; 성문승을
Those who seek solitary enlightenment
; 독각을 구하는 자는
are even fewer; 더욱 다시 적으며
And those who aim for the Great Vehicle
; 대승에 나아가는 자는
are very hard to find; 심히 만나기 어렵도다
