“저는 어떤 법회가 됐든지 법회에 올 때마다 ‘이것이 지금까지 내가 알고
있는 최고의 내용이다’ 라고 생각되는 것만 준비해서 옵니다.
그러면 그 속에 일관되게 담긴 내용은 무엇일까?
불심(佛心)입니다 .
우리가 불심 가지고 이 자리에 왔습니다.
‘불심은 종자와 같다’ 그랬어요. 그냥 가만히 있는 것이 종자가 아닙니다.
종자는 뿌리기만 하면 으레 싹을 틔우고 잎이 피고 열매를 맺죠. 불법이라고 하는 나무를,
그 작은 종자가 키우고, 꽃을 피웁니다.
예를 들어서 십 미터 이십 미터 되는 소나무가 있다하더 라도 그 씨앗은 아주 작았습니다 .
아주 작은 솔씨가 이십 미터 삼십 미터 되는 큰 아름드리 소나무가 되듯이 불심이라는 종자도 우리에게 미미한 것 같고 ‘나에게 불심이 있나? 나에게 과연 불심이 얼마나 될까? 내가 공공의 이익을 위해서 얼마나 헌신할 수 있을까?’ 의심스러울 때가 있더라도, 그 불심은 결국 종자이기 때문에 잘 심고 가꾸면 무럭무럭 자라납니다.
결국은 석가모니 부처님처럼 문수보살이나 보현보살처럼 지장보살이나 관세음보살처럼 그렇게 크게 그리고 아주 아름다운 인격자로 스스로를 성장시켜 갑니다.
그런 종자를 여러분들은 여러분들의 마음속에 지금 다 가지고 있어요. 그 마음, 그 불심이라고 하는 종자, 그 힘으로 이 추운 날 여기까지 오신 것입니다.“

“Whenever I come to a Dharma talk, I only prepare what I believe is the very best of what I know.
Then, what is the consistent message inside them?
It is 'Bul-sim,' the mind of Buddha.
We came here today with the Buddha-mind.
It is said that 'the Buddha-mind is like a seed.' A seed is not something that just stays still.
Once a seed is sown, it naturally sprouts, grows leaves, and bears fruit.
That tiny seed grows the tree of the Buddha’s teachings and makes it bloom with flowers.
For example, even a pine tree that is 10 or 20 meters tall started from a very tiny seed.
Just as a tiny seed grows into a massive 20 or 30-meter pine tree, our Buddha-mind may seem small at first. We might doubt ourselves, asking, 'Do I really have it? How much is in me? Can I truly serve others?' But because it is a seed, it will grow tall and strong if we plant it well and nurture it with care.
In the end, we grow into great and beautiful beings, just like Shakyamuni Buddha and the Bodhisattvas: Manjusri, Samantabhadra, Ksitigarbha, and Avalokitesvara.
Every one of you already has that seed inside your heart right now.
It is with that heart, that seed of the Buddha-mind, and its power that you have come all the way here on this cold day.“
