2:12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--
그러므로 내 친애하는 친구들아, 너희가 항상 순종했던 것처럼
not only in my presence, 내가 있을 때 뿐만 아니라
but now much more in my absence 내가 부재할 때에 더욱더
--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
두렵고 떨림으로 너희의 구원을 이루기를 계속하라.
2:13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
너희 안에서 행하시는 이는 하나님이시니, 너희로 하여금 그의 선한 목적에 따라 뜻을 두고 행하게 하신다.
2:14 Do everything without complaining or arguing, 모든 것을 불평과 다툼이 없이 행하라
2:15 so that you may become blameless and pure, 너희가 흠없고 깨끗하게 되게 하려고
children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation,
구부러지고 타락된 세대에서 흠이 없이 하나님의 자녀들로서
in which you shine like stars in the universe 너희가 우주에 있는 별처럼 빛나게 함으로
2:16 as you hold out the word of life-- 네가 생명의 말씀을 붙잡고 있을 때
in order that I may boast on the day of Christ 내가 그리스도의 날에 자랑할 수 있기 위해
that I did not run or labor for nothing.내가 헛되이 달리거나 수고한 것이 아니었다.
2:17 But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.
그러나 너희들의 믿음에서 나오는 제사와 예배 위에 내가 전제로 부어진다 할지라도 나는 기뻐하고 너희 모두와 함께 즐거워한다.
2:18 So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.
그래서 너희들도 역시 나와함께 기뻐하고 즐거워해야 한다.
2:19 I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon,
나는 너희를 곧 디모데에게 보내기를 주 예수 안에서 소망한다.
that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you.
그러면 나 또한 너희들의 소식을 듣고도 기쁨을 느낄 수 있을 것이다.
2:20 I have no one else like him, who takes a genuine interest in your welfare.
나에게 그 사람처럼 너희들의 복지(안녕)에 진심으로 관심을 갖는 사람은 없다.
