6:1 What shall we say, then? 그러면 우리가 무엇을 말할까?
Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?
은혜가 증가할 수 있기 위해 우리가 죄 짓는 것으로 갈 것인가?
6:2 By no means! 그럴 수 없다.
We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
우리는 죄에게 죽었으므로 어떻게 우리가 더이상 그 안에서 살수 있는가?
6:3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
또는 그리스도 안으로 세례를 받았던 우리 모두가 그의 죽음 안으로 세례 받았단 것을 너희는 알지 못하는가?
6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 그러므로 그리스도께서 아버지의 영광을 통하여 죽은 자들로부터 부활하셨던 것처럼 우리도 새생명을 살 수 있기 위해 죽음 안으로 세례를 통하여 그와 함께 장사되었다.
6:5 If we have been united with him like this in his death,
만일 우리가 그의 죽음으로 이와 같이 그와 함께 연합되었다면
we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.
우리는 확실히 또한 그의 부활로 그와 함께 연합되어질 것이다.
6:6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him
우리는 우리의 옛 자아가 그와 함께 십자가에 못박혔다는 것을 안다.
so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin--
죄의 몸이 없어지고 우리가 더 이상 죄의 노예가 되지 않게 하려고
6:7 because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.
왜냐하면 죽은 자들이 죄로부터 자유롭게 되었기 때문이다.
6:8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
이제 만일 우리가 그리스도와 함께 죽었다면 우리는 또한 그와 함께 살게 될 것을 믿는다.
6:9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 그리스도께서 죽은 자들로부터 일으키심을 받았으므로 죽음이 더 이상 그를 주장하지 못한다는 것을 우리는 안다.
6:10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
예수님이 죄에 대하여 단번에 죽으셨지만, 살아가시는 삶은 하나님을 위한 삶이다.
6:11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
이와 같이 여러분도 자신을 죄에 대하여는 죽은 자로 여기고 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님께 대하여는 산 자로 여기라.
