22:52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders, who had come for him,
그때 예수께서 대제사장들과 성전을 지키는 관원들과 그에게 왔던 장로들에게 말씀하셨다.
"Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come with swords and clubs?
내가 반란을 이끌고 있는가? 너희는 검과 곤봉을 가지고 왔다.
22:53 Every day I was with you in the temple courts,
매일 나는 성전 마당에서 너희와 함께 있었다.
and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour--when darkness reigns."
그리고 너희는 나를 잡지 않았다. 그러나 이제는 어둠이 지배하는 너희들의 시간이다.
22:54 Then seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest.
그때 그를 잡고서 그들은 그를 이끌고 가서 대제사장의 집 안으로 데리고 갔다.
Peter followed at a distance. 베드로는 멀찍이 따라갔다.
22:55 But when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together,
그러나 그들이 마당 가운데 불을 피우고 함께 앉았을 때에
Peter sat down with them. 베드로는 그들과 함께 앉았다.
22:56 A servant girl saw him seated there in the firelight.
여종 하나가 불빛에 거기 앉아있는 그를 보았다.
She looked closely at him and said, "This man was with him."
그 여자는 그에게 가까이 가서 보고 말했다. "이 사람이 그와 함께 있었다."
22:57 But he denied it. "Woman, I don't know him," he said.
그러나 그는 부인했다. "여자여, 나는 그를 모른다."고 그가 말했다.
22:58 A little later someone else saw him and said,
잠시 후에 어떤 다른 사람이 그를 보고 말했다.
"You also are one of them." 너도 그들 중에 하나다.
"Man, I am not!" Peter replied. 베드로는 "이 사람아, 나는 아니다."라고 대답했다.
22:59 About an hour later another asserted, 대략 한시간 후에 다른 사람이 주장했다.
"Certainly this fellow was with him, for he is a Galilean."
"그는 갈릴리 사람이기 때문에 확실이 이 사람은 그와 함께 있었다."
22:60 Peter replied, "Man, I don't know what you're talking about!"
베드로는 "이 사람아, 나는 네가 무엇에 대해 말하는지 모른다."고 대답했다.
Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed. 그가 말하자마자, 수탉이 울었다.
22:61 The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter.
주님께서 돌아서서 베드로를 똑바로 바라보셨다.
Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him:
그때 베드로는 주님께서 그에게 말씀하셨던 그 말씀을 기억했다.
"Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times."
"오늘 수탉이 울기 전에, 네가 나를 세번 부인할 것이다."
22:62 And he went outside and wept bitterly.
그는 밖으로 나가 비통하게 울었다.
