 The Buddha stated, “You should never accept what I say as true simply because I have said it. Rather, you should test the teachings yourself to see if they are true or not. If you find that they are true and helful, then practice them.

But do not do so merely out of respect for me.” “Also, do not criticize the teaching of others and say they are no good. There are many other great teachers in the world and they all have their own way of helping people. So do not insult any of them. This is not your business, Your only business is to find happiness and help others find it too.”

 붓다는 말하였다. “내가 말하였다고 하여 내 말을 진실이라고 받아들이지 마세요. 오히려 나의 가르침이 사실인지 아닌지 스스로 시험해 봐야 합니다. 그것글이 참되고 도움이 된다고 생각되면 그것을 실천하십시오.” 그러나 단지 나를 존경하는 마음에서 그렇게 하지 마십시오,“ ”또한 다른 사람의 가르침을 비방하고 좋지 않다고 말하지 마십시오. 세상에는 다른 훌륭한 스승들이 많이 있고, 그들 모두가 사람을 돕는 자신들만의 방법이 있습니다. 그러므로 그들을 모욕하지 마십시오, 이거은 당신의 일이 아닙니다.당신의 유일한 일은 행복을 찾고 다른 사람들도 그것을 찾도록 돕는 것입니다.“

 He taught his followers to test for themselves: to be kind to others and to respect everyone, The Buddha was primarily a man and did not claim to have been inspired by any God, any supernatural being or any external authority. He attributed all his awareness and achievement to human endeavor and human intelliigence.

 The life of the Buddha stay clean in the world without being polluted by it like a lotus living in water. “Like a lotus born and raised in water, that stands above the water and is untouched by the water, so the Buddha was born and raised in the world, but having overcome the world, he remained untouched by the world.” He is a good example to the society.

 그는 제자들에게 스스로 테스트하고 다른 사람들에게 친절하고 모든 사람을 존중하라고 가르쳤다. 붓다는 일차적으로 사람이었으며 신이나 초자연적인 존재 또는 외부 권위에서 영감을 받았다고 주장하지 않았다. 그는 자신의 모든 자각과 성취를 인간의 노력과 인간 지능덕분이라고 보았다.

 붓다의 삶은 물속에 사는 연꽃과 같이 세상에 더럽혀지지 않고 깨끗한 상태를 유지하고 있다. “물에서 태어나 자라는 연꽃이 물 위에서 물에 닿지 않는 것과 같이 붓다도 세상에 태어나 자랐으나 세상을 이기고 세상에 물들지 않고 살았다.” 그는 사회의 좋은 본보기이다.

The Buddha refused absolute obedience or unconditional blind faith.
He told us to check if what he said was true.

This is what the Buddha was wary of us idolizing.
Commonly wrong cults order people to do what they are told
No matter how great a teacher may say, we should just respect and not believe it. It means to thoroughly check the correctness and then do so if it is true.

It denies human subjectivity. It does not help people judge themselves and go the right way
It is wrong to be a passive being like a brainwashed robot.

The Buddha stressed the need to constantly strive, study, realize
