2. 아침 일찍 짐을 갖고 테살로니키 버스터미널로 가서 8시30분발 Polykastro행 버스를 탄다.
I take my luggage early in the morning and go to the Thessaloniki bus terminal. And I take a bus to Polykastro at 8:30.

4. 버스에서 보니 돔형의 터미널 건물이 멋있다.
The dome roof of the bus terminal building looks nice on the bus.
5. 숙소앞이 정류장이 아님에도 기사에게 부탁하니 버스를 세워준다.
하루 머물 숙소에 체크인 한 후
어제의 도착지이자 오늘의 출발지인 Ag.Petros 마을로 가려고 하지만 가는 방법이 만만찮다.
I ask the driver to stop at the front of the hotel, but it is not a bus stop. He is kind to me.

I am going to the village of Ag.Petros, yesterday's destination and today's departure. But it is a tough way to go.
6. 일단 2km를 걸어서 Polykastro시내로 간다.

시내의 일반버스정류장에서 오랫동안 기다려도 그 방면으로 가는 버스는 오지 않는다. 정보도 확실치 않다. 시간은 흘러 벌써 11시.
마침 지나가는 택시가 있어서 20km 떨어진 그 마을까지의 요금을 물어보니 25유로다. 3만원이 넘는 돈이다. 지출하기로 했다.
그런데 택시를 타니 기사가 외국인은 경찰서에 가서 허락을 받아야 한다고 한다. 아마도 국경지대는 그런가 보다. 1~2분을 달려 경찰서에서 필자의 여권을 조회한 후 마을에 도착하니 11시반.
우여곡절 끝에 도착했다.
Anyway I walk 2 km to the town of Polykastro.
The photo shows the elementary school playground on the way.
The bus going to Ag. Petros is not coming for a long time. The available information is not clear.
Already it is 11 O'clock in the morning. Then I find a taxi and ask the fare to Ag. Petros . It is 25 euros for 20km riding. , i.e. over 30,000 won in Korean money. It is 20km distance. I take the taxi.
But when I take a taxi, the driver says that foreigner should get a permission from the police. After 2 minutes driving, we arrrived at the police station. Policeman looked over my passport. There was no problem. Finally I arrived at the village Ag, Petros at 11:30.
7. 어제의 그 신부님에 대해 물어보았다. 동네 사람들도 잘 모른다는 것이다.
I asked about the priest met yesterday. The people in the neighborhood didn’t know him.
8. 바로 이 건물 앞이다. 그 신부님은 어제 어디에서 오신 것일까?
It’s right here in front of this building. Where did the priest come from yesterday?
9. 다시 걷는다.
I am walking enjoying the country landscape.
10. 이쯤 걸어가고 있는데 순찰차가 나그네를 가로막는다. 신고가 들어왔다는 것이다. 수상한 사람이 사진을 찍고 있다는.
아마도 국경지대는 늘 긴장 상태에 있나보다.
While I’m walking about here, a patrol car interrupts me. The call that a suspicious man took pictures came in to the police station.
Perhaps the border is always under strong tension.
11. 크리스머스 퍼포먼스 옆의 옛수도꼭지에서 물이 흘러내린다.

20. 한참 걷다가 뒤돌아 보니 햇살이 내리쬐는 도로의 장면이 잡힌다. 직선형 도로의 멋진 장면을 보니 1년전쯤 인도를 걸을 때가 생각난다.

I walk for a long time. When I turn around, I see a scene of a sunny road. When I see a wonderful scene on a straight road, I remember my walking in India about a year ago.

21. 아까 Polykastro에서 기다리던 버스인듯 하다.
A bus is comming from the direction of Polykastro. It seems to be the bus I was waiting for at Polykastro this morning.

23. 2시쯤 들른 어느 작은 마을의 식당에서 만난 주민.
I dropped in a restaurant for lunch at 2:00 pm. A selfie with a resident who met at a restaurant in a small village.
24. 마침 이 분이 먹고있는 점심과 같은 메뉴를 주문하면서 서울에서부터 걸어온 이야기를 들려주었다.
감탄을 하면서 밥값을 자신이 내겠다고 한다. 맛있는 점심이다.
I ordered the same menu for lunch that this person was eating, and told him the story that I walked from Seoul.
He admired my walking pilgrimage and said he would pay for my food.
25. 떠나면서 마을 이름을 확인했다.
Kampochori.
I checked the name of the town as I left. It is Kampochori.
26. 도중에 만난 개울. 흐르는 물이 맑다.
The stream I met on the way. The flowing water is clear.
27. Polykastro가 보이기 시작한다.
인구 약1만명이지만 국경지대에 있어서 여러나라 사람들이 섞여사는 국제도시다.
이곳 사람들은 자신이 사는 지역이 Macedonia라는 이름으로 불리어야 한다고 주장한다.
그리고 마케도니아 국가를 '스코페'라는 이름으로 부르고 있다.
이들의 국호와 국경을 둘러싼 분쟁은 25년전에 꽤 심각한 상황까지 갔으나 다행히 무력충돌없이 타결되었다고 한다.

Polykastro begins to be seen.
It is an international city with a population of about 10,000 but mixed with people from various countries in the border area.
People here claim that this area should be called Macedonia.
But the Macedonian country is called the Scope

싱싱하고 맛있어 보인다.
한편으로 생각해보면,
겨울철에 이런 야채를 재배하려면 별도의 에너지가 소비되어야 한다.
지구촌의 모든 이가 이런 혜택을 누리고자 한다면 과연 어찌될 것인가.
지속가능하지 않다.
이를 표준이라고 보기는 어렵다.
그렇다면 대안은 있나?
겨울철에도 싱싱한 채소를 먹을 방법이?
있다.
한국에 있다.
The vegetable salad I ordered for dinner. It looks fresh and delicious.
On the other hand, the extra energy needed to grow these vegetables in winter.
What would happen if everyone in the world wanted to enjoy this benefit?
It is not sustainable. It is hard to see this as a standard.
So what's the alternative?
Is there any way to eat fresh vegetables in winter?
Yes, it's in Korea.
