🚐 금요일 오후, 캠프로 향하는 길

금요일 늦은 오후, 우리는 오하이오 주의 주도인 콜럼버스(Columbus)에서 북동쪽으로 약 세 시간을 달려 디트로이트, 미시간과 가까운 지역에 도착했다. 그곳에는 RV를 주차할 수 있는 아늑한 사설 캠프장이 있었고, 우리는 도착하자마자 저녁 식사 준비에 분주히 움직였다. 긴 운전 끝에 맞이한 캠프장의 고요한 분위기와 저녁 햇살은 여행의 시작을 더욱 설레게 만들었다.

🚐 Friday Afternoon — On the Way to the Campground

Late Friday afternoon, we drove about three hours northeast from Columbus, the capital of Ohio, and arrived in an area close to Detroit, Michigan. There, we found a cozy private campground where we could park our RV. As soon as we arrived, we began preparing dinner. The quiet atmosphere of the campground and the warm glow of the evening sun, greeting us after a long drive, made the beginning of our trip feel even more exciting.

 일명 RV(Recreational Vehicle)라고 불리는 사진 속 캠프 차량은 가족이 사용하기에 충분한 공간을 갖추고 있었다. 실내에는 화장실과 침실, 취사 시설까지 마련되어 있어 생활하기에 매우 편리했다. 우리는 이곳에서 2박 3일을 머물며, 나의 직장 상사인 "스펜스( Spence)" 씨와 그의 아들 "코디(Cody)"와 함께 시간을 보냈다. 미국 독립기념일에는 오하이오 주와 캐나다 사이에 위치한 미국의 오대호 중 하나인 "이리 호수(Lake Erie)" 에서 하루 종일 배를 타고 낚시를 즐겼다. 끝없이 펼쳐진 호수 위에서 시원한 바람을 맞으며 보낸 그 하루는 잊기 어려운 특별한 경험이었다.

The RV (Recreational Vehicle) shown in the photo had more than enough space for a family to use comfortably. Inside, it was equipped with a bathroom, a bedroom, and cooking facilities, making it very convenient for daily living. We stayed there for three days and two nights, spending time with my supervisor, Mr. Spence, and his son Cody.

On Independence Day, we spent the entire day fishing on Lake Erie, one of the Great Lakes located between Ohio and Canada. Riding across the vast lake with the cool breeze on our faces made the day an unforgettable and truly special experience.

함께 여행을 떠난 "스펜스(Spence)" 씨는 성격이 매우 쾌활하고, 늘 환하게 웃는 모습이 인상적인 분이다. 평소에도 주변 사람들을 편안하게 만드는 따뜻한 에너지를 가진 분이라 이번 여행에서도 분위기를 한층 더 즐겁게 만들어 주었다. 내가 근무하는 사무실 역시 이런 따뜻한 분위기가 자연스럽게 이어지는 곳이다. 그리고 언제나 꼼꼼하고 친절한 비서 "메어리(Mary)"까지, 마치 가족처럼 서로를 챙기며 일하고 있다. 우리가 근무하는 곳은 C 교육청 내 모든 건물의 에너지 메너지먼트 시스템(Energy Management System)을 관리 및 모니터링하고 제어하는 핵심 부서이기도 하다. 서로 믿고 의지하며 일하는 이 공간은 나에게 큰 안정감과 즐거움을 준다. ^^

Mr. Spence, who traveled with us, is an exceptionally cheerful person whose bright smile always leaves a lasting impression. He has a warm energy that naturally puts people at ease, and thanks to that, he made the atmosphere of this trip even more enjoyable. My workplace carries the same warmth. Along with Mr. Spence, our meticulous and kind secretary Mary works with us, and we all look after one another like family. Our office is the core department responsible for managing, monitoring, and controlling the Energy Management System for all buildings within the C School District. Working in a place where we trust and rely on each other gives me a deep sense of stability and joy. ^^

🍋 캠프장에서 풍겨온 레몬 향의 저녁

캠프장에 도착한 뒤, "스펜스" 씨는 곧바로 저녁 준비에 나섰다. 그는 손질한 닭 가슴살에 레몬과 소금으로 간단하지만 정갈하게 양념을 하고, 뜨겁게 달궈진 그릴 위에 올렸다. 레몬 향이 은은하게 퍼지며 캠프장 공기와 섞이자, 긴 운전의 피로가 스르르 풀리는 듯했다. 그릴 위에서 지글지글 익어가는 소리와 함께, 여행 첫날의 저녁은 그렇게 따뜻하고 풍성하게 시작되었다.

🍋 A Lemon‑Scented Evening at the Campground

After we arrived at the campground, Mr. Spence immediately began preparing dinner. He seasoned the cleaned chicken breasts simply but neatly with lemon and salt, then placed them on the hot grill. As the gentle aroma of lemon spread through the air and blended with the quiet atmosphere of the campground, the fatigue from the long drive seemed to melt away. With the sizzling sound of the chicken cooking on the grill, the first evening of our trip began warmly and abundantly.

🚤 이리 호수로 나아갈 우리의 보트

아침 일찍, 우리가 승선할 보트를 바라보며 하루의 설렘을 느꼈다. 사진에서는 멀리서 찍혀 작아 보이지만, 실제로는 길이 25피트, 폭 12피트에 이르는 제법 큰 보트였다. 이 정도 크기는 되어야만 파도가 거센 이리 호수로 안전하게 나갈 수 있다. 이름은 호수지만, 이리 호수는 바다와 다름없을 만큼 넓고 파도도 크게 일어 작은 배로는 쉽게 낭패를 볼 수 있는 곳이다. 우리가 탄 보트는 볼보 6기통 엔진을 장착해 30노트 이상의 속력을 낼 수 있었고, 가격도 약 7만 달러에 이르는 고급 장비였다. 항해를 돕는 GPS와 소나 장치까지 갖추고 있어, 깊은 호수 위에서도 든든한 신뢰감을 주었다. 아침 햇살 아래 잔잔히 흔들리는 보트를 바라보니, 곧 펼쳐질 낚시 여행에 대한 기대가 한층 더 커졌다.

🚤 Our Boat Heading Out to Lake Erie

Early in the morning, we looked at the boat we would be boarding and felt the excitement of the day ahead. Although it appears small in the photo because it was taken from a distance, the boat was actually quite large—25 feet long and 12 feet wide. A vessel of this size is necessary to safely navigate Lake Erie, where the waves can be as strong as those of the ocean. Despite being called a lake, Lake Erie is vast like the sea, and its waves can grow large enough to easily overwhelm a small boat.

The boat we rode was equipped with a Volvo six‑cylinder engine capable of reaching speeds over 30 knots, and it was a high‑end model valued at around $70,000. It also had GPS navigation and a sonar system, giving us a strong sense of security even out on the deep waters of the lake. Watching the boat gently sway under the morning sunlight, our anticipation for the fishing trip ahead grew even stronger.

🌅 아침 출항, 형제섬을 향해

아직 본격적인 낚시는 시작되지 않았지만, 우리는 이른 아침 수로를 따라 천천히 이동하며 먼저 보트의 연료탱크를 가득 채웠다. 주유를 마친 뒤, 오늘의 목적지인 형제섬(Brother Islands) 부근을 향해 출항했다. 약 7마일(11.2km) 떨어진 형제섬은 멀리 수평선 위로 아주 작게 모습을 드러내고 있었다.

이곳은 미국령이지만, 캐나다와 가장 가까운 지점 중 하나라서 조금만 더 북쪽으로 올라가면 캐나다 해양경찰의 검문을 받을 수도 있는 지역이다. 국경이 가까운 만큼, 호수 위의 공기에는 묘한 긴장감과 설렘이 함께 섞여 있었다. 잔잔한 물결을 가르며 목적지를 향해 나아가는 보트 위에서, 오늘 하루가 어떤 추억을 남겨줄지 기대가 점점 커졌다.

🌅 Morning Departure Toward the Brother Islands

Although the real fishing had not yet begun, we slowly made our way through the channel early in the morning and first filled the boat’s fuel tank to the top. After refueling, we set out toward our destination for the day—the area near the Brother Islands. About 7 miles (11.2 km) away, the islands appeared faintly on the horizon, just a small silhouette in the distance.  Although this area is part of the United States, it is one of the closest points to Canada, and going just a bit farther north could lead to an inspection by the Canadian Coast Guard. Because we were so close to the border, the air above the lake carried a subtle mix of tension and excitement. As our boat cut through the calm morning waters, my anticipation grew, wondering what memories this day on the lake would leave behind.

🤝 직속 상관이자 든든한 친구, 스펜스

"스펜스" 씨는 나의 직속 상관(Energy Manager)이지만, 직함보다 더 먼저 떠오르는 단어는 ‘친구’이다. 그는 언제나 편안하게 다가와 어떤 이야기든 나눌 수 있는 사람이고, 일과 삶의 고민까지도 스스럼없이 의논할 수 있는 든든한 존재다. 나는 현재 통합전문가(Controls and Integrator Specialist)로 근무하며 5년만 더 일하면 명예퇴직을 할 수 있지만, 댄 스펜스 씨는 벌써부터 “10년은 더 함께 일하자”고 농담처럼, 그러나 진심을 담아 말하곤 한다. 그 말에 나도 모르게 명퇴 이야기를 입 밖에 꺼내지 못하고 있다.  최근 그는 오랫동안 살던 집을 팔고, 시골에 새 집을 짓기 위한 준비를 마쳤다. 직접 설계한 도면을 시 정부에 제출해 검정을 통과했고, 곧 시공에 들어간다고 한다. 자신이 꿈꾸던 집을 스스로 설계해 짓는다는 사실만으로도 그의 성격과 삶의 태도가 고스란히 드러나는 듯했다. 책임감 있으면서도 따뜻하고, 일에서는 철저하지만 삶에서는 여유를 잃지 않는 사람. 그런 그와 함께한 이번 여행은 단순한 휴식 이상의 의미를 남겨주었다.

🤝 Spence — My Energy manager and a Trusted Friend

Although Mr. Spence is my direct supervisor (Energy Manager), the word that comes to mind before his title is friend. He is someone who approaches others with ease, someone with whom I can talk about anything—from work-related matters to personal concerns—without hesitation. I currently work as a Controls and Integrator Specialist, and in five years I will be eligible for early retirement. Yet Mr. Spence often says, half joking but with genuine sincerity, “Let’s work together for at least ten more years.” Because of that, I find myself unable to bring up the topic of retirement around him.

🌊 수평선 너머로 보이는 데이비스 원자력발전소

보트의 앞부분에 서서 시야를 멀리 펼치니, 끝없이 이어진 이리 호수의 수평선이 한눈에 들어왔다. 왼쪽 먼 수평선 위로 아주 작게 솟아 있는 구조물이 보였는데, 그것이 바로 "데이비스 원자력발전소" 의 쿨링타워(Cooling Tower)였다. 멀리서 보면 손톱만큼 작게 보이지만, 실제로는 거대한 규모의 시설이다. 광활한 호수 위에서 저 멀리 보이는 쿨링타워는 이리 호수가 얼마나 넓고 깊은 곳인지 다시 한 번 실감하게 해주었다.

🌊 The Davis Nuclear Power Plant Beyond the Horizon

Standing at the bow of the boat and letting my gaze stretch far into the distance, the endless horizon of Lake Erie came into full view. On the far left side of that horizon, a tiny structure rose faintly against the sky—that was the cooling tower of the Davis Nuclear Power Plant. Although it appeared no bigger than a fingertip from afar, in reality it is an enormous facility. Seeing the cooling tower from so far out on the vast lake made me realize once again just how wide and deep Lake Erie truly is.

스펜스 씨의 아들 "코디(Cody)"는 현재 K-12 과정 중 12학년, 즉 고교 졸업반에 재학 중이다. 어려서부터 음악을 좋아해 지금은 학교 "악대부(Band)"에서 활동하고 있으며, 실력도 뛰어나 미국 대통령 취임식 퍼레이드에 참여한 경험도 있다고 한다. 그 나이에 그런 큰 무대에 섰다는 것만으로도 대단한 일이다.

하지만 장래 희망을 두고는 아버지인 스펜스 씨와 조금 의견 차이가 있는 듯하다. 코디는 대학에서 음악을 전공하고 싶어 하지만, 스펜스 씨는 그 점이 못내 걱정스러운 모양이다. 아버지로서 아들의 미래를 생각하는 마음이 크다 보니, 안정적인 진로를 바라는 마음과 코디의 꿈을 존중해야 한다는 마음이 뒤섞여 복잡한 심정인 듯했다. 그래도 여행 내내 코디를 바라보는 그의 눈빛에는 애정과 자부심이 가득했다.

Cody, the Son of Mr. Spence

Mr. Spence’s son, Cody, is currently a 12th‑grade senior in the K–12 system. He has loved music since he was young and is now an active member of his school band. His talent is exceptional—so much so that he even performed in the U.S. Presidential Inauguration Parade, an impressive achievement for someone his age. When it comes to his future, however, he and his father seem to have slightly different views. Cody hopes to major in music in college, but Mr. Spence appears to be somewhat concerned about that path. As a father, he wants to support his son’s dreams, yet he also worries about ensuring a stable future for him. Those mixed feelings—between respect for Cody’s passion and concern for his long‑term prospects—seem to weigh on him. Even so, throughout the trip, the way he looked at Cody was filled with affection and pride.

⚓ 조타석에서 바라본 기술의 세계

보트의 조타석은 이리 호수의 넓은 물길을 안전하게 항해하기 위한 핵심 공간이었다. 이곳에는 수심을 측정하고, 보트 아래쪽의 물고기 움직임을 실시간으로 보여주는 소나 시스템이 설치되어 있어, 마치 물속을 들여다보는 듯한 느낌을 주었다. 화면에 나타나는 물고기의 그림자와 수심 변화는 오늘 낚시가 어떤 하루가 될지 미리 알려주는 듯했다. 또한 보트에는 GPS 항법장치가 장착되어 있어, 야간에도 나침반 없이 정확한 위치를 지도와 함께 확인할 수 있었다. 이 장치는 단순한 위치 확인을 넘어, 우리가 잡은 고기의 위치를 점으로 표시해 저장하는 기능도 있었다. 그래서 고기가 잘 잡히는 지점을 발견할 때마다 우리는 그 자리에서 항법장치에 표시를 남겼고, 시간이 지날수록 우리만의 비밀 낚시 지도가 하나둘 완성되어 갔다.

⚓ The World of Technology Seen from the Helm

The helm of the boat was the central space that allowed us to navigate the vast waters of Lake Erie safely. It was equipped with a sonar system that measured water depth and displayed the movement of fish beneath the boat in real time, giving the impression that we were peering directly into the water. The silhouettes of fish and the shifting depth shown on the screen felt like hints about what kind of fishing day awaited us.

The boat was also fitted with a GPS navigation system, which allowed us to check our exact location on the map even at night without relying on a compass. Beyond simply showing our position, the device could mark and save the exact spots where we caught fish. Each time we found a good fishing point, we left a marker on the navigation screen, and over time, our own secret fishing map gradually took shape.

🎣 이리 호수에서 올린 18마리의 월아이

그날 우리는 총 18마리의 월아이(Walleye)를 낚아 올렸다. 한 마리의 길이가 약 24인치(약 61cm)에 이를 만큼 크고 건강한 녀석들이었다. 월아이는 민물고기임에도 비린내가 거의 없고, 맛은 바다고기인 조기와 견줄 만큼 담백하고 고소하다. 소금만 살짝 뿌려 튀겨 먹어도 별미라, 낚는 재미와 먹는 즐거움이 함께 있는 귀한 어종이다. 이리 호수에서는 낚시꾼 1인당 6마리로 잡을 수 있는 수량이 제한되어 있다. 우리 일행은 세 명이었기 때문에 정확히 18마리까지만 가져갈 수 있었다. 실제로는 24마리를 잡았지만, 규정 수량을 넘기면 보트에 설치된 임시 어류 보관 수조(어쿠아리움)에 물을 펌프로 끌어올려 고기를 살려두었다가, 더 큰 고기를 잡으면 기존에 잡아둔 고기를 다시 호수로 방류했다. 그렇게 해서 가장 큰 18마리만 남기고, 나머지는 모두 자연으로 돌려보냈다. 이 과정에서 가장 인상 깊었던 점은, 해안경비대가 오지 않아도 이곳 사람들은 법을 철저히 지킨다는 사실이었다. 누구의 감시가 없어도 스스로 규정을 지키는 모습에서, 자연을 아끼고 공동의 자원을 존중하는 미국 낚시 문화의 깊이를 배울 수 있었다. 단순한 낚시 여행이 아니라, 자연과 규칙을 대하는 태도까지 되돌아보게 하는 의미 있는 경험이었다.

🎣 Eighteen Walleye Caught on Lake Erie

That day, we caught a total of 18 walleye. Each one measured about 24 inches (approximately 61 cm), large and healthy fish. Despite being freshwater fish, walleye have almost no fishy smell, and their flavor is mild and savory—comparable to the sea fish jogi. Simply sprinkling a bit of salt and frying them makes for an exceptional dish, making walleye a prized catch that offers both the joy of fishing and the pleasure of eating. Lake Erie limits anglers to six walleye per person, so the three of us were allowed to take exactly 18 fish. In reality, we caught 24, but any fish beyond the legal limit were kept alive in the boat’s temporary holding tank, where lake water was pumped in to keep them fresh. Whenever we caught a larger fish, we released one of the previously caught ones back into the lake. In this way, we kept only the largest 18 and returned the rest to nature. What impressed me most was that people here follow the rules even without the Coast Guard present. Watching anglers voluntarily respect the regulations reminded me of the deep-rooted American fishing culture—one that values nature and treats shared resources with respect. It was more than just a fishing trip; it was a meaningful experience that made me reflect on how we relate to nature and the rules that protect it.

🌅 다음날 아침 수로를 지나 이리 호수로 나아가는 순간

이리 호수로 나가기 전, 우리는 먼저 보트가 정박해 있는 선착장에서 천천히 수로를 따라 이동했다. 양옆으로 잔잔한 물결이 부딪히고, 아침 햇살이 물 위에 반짝이며 길을 열어주는 듯했다. 수로는 마치 넓은 호수로 나아가기 위한 작은 통로처럼 느껴졌고, 그 길을 따라 조금씩 앞으로 나아가자 드넓은 이리 호수의 푸른 수평선이 서서히 눈앞에 펼쳐졌다. 오늘 하루의 낚시가 어떤 추억을 남길지 기대가 자연스레 커졌다.

🌅 Entering Lake Erie Through the Morning Channel

Before heading out into Lake Erie, we slowly made our way along the channel from the dock where our boat had been moored. Gentle ripples brushed against both sides of the boat, and the morning sunlight shimmered on the water as if opening a path for us. The channel felt like a narrow passage leading toward the vast lake, and as we continued forward, the wide blue horizon of Lake Erie gradually unfolded before our eyes. With each passing moment, my anticipation grew for the memories that today’s fishing trip would bring.

🐟 오늘의 조과, 월아이의 싱싱함이 그대로

오늘 잡은 "월아이(Walleye)"를 포를 뜨기 전에 한 장 사진으로 남겼다. 갓 잡아 올린 고기답게 몸집이 단단하고 윤기가 흐르며, 이리 호수의 차가운 물에서 바로 건져 올린 생생함이 그대로 느껴졌다. 낚시꾼에게는 이런 순간이 가장 큰 보람이자 기쁨인데, 오늘의 조과를 이렇게 눈으로 확인하니 하루의 수고가 모두 보상받는 듯했다.

🐟 Today’s Catch — The Freshness of Walleye, Just as It Was

Before filleting the walleye we caught today, I took a photo to capture the moment. Fresh from the cold waters of Lake Erie, the fish were firm, glossy, and full of life. For an angler, moments like this are the greatest reward and joy. Seeing the day’s catch laid out before my eyes made all the effort of the day feel completely worthwhile.

🌙 하루를 마무리하며 선착장으로 돌아온 저녁

오늘 하루의 일과는 이렇게 마무리되었다. 낚시를 끝내고 우리는 천천히 선착장으로 돌아와 보트를 정박시키고 있었다. 이리 호수 위에서 보낸 긴 하루가 저물어 가는 시간, 잔잔한 물결과 함께 배를 묶는 손길에는 묘한 여유와 만족감이 스며 있었다. 아침의 설렘으로 시작해 월아이를 가득 낚아 올린 하루였기에, 선착장에 닿는 순간까지도 마음 한켠이 뿌듯하게 차올랐다. 호수 위로 내려앉는 저녁빛을 바라보며, 오늘 하루가 오래 기억될 소중한 추억이 되리라는 생각이 들었다.

🌙 Evening Return to the Dock — Closing the Day

The day came to an end as we slowly made our way back to the dock after finishing our fishing. As we secured the boat, the gentle ripples of Lake Erie and the fading light of the evening carried a quiet sense of ease and satisfaction. The day had begun with morning excitement and ended with a full catch of walleye, and even as we reached the dock, a warm sense of fulfillment lingered within me. Watching the evening glow settle over the lake, I felt certain that this day would remain a cherished memory for a long time.

🐟 오늘 수확한 월아이, 포를 뜨기 전의 순간

오늘 수확한 "월아이(Walleye)"들이다. 갓 잡아 올린 고기답게 비늘은 은빛으로 반짝이고, 살은 단단하게 힘이 들어가 있었다. 포를 뜨기 전에 잠시 한 장의 사진을 남겼는데, 이리 호수의 차가운 물에서 건져 올린 생생함이 그대로 담겨 있었다. 하루 종일 호수 위에서 보낸 시간의 결실을 눈앞에서 확인하니, 낚시꾼으로서의 뿌듯함이 절로 밀려왔다. 이제 잠시 후면 깨끗하게 손질해 포를 뜨고, 오늘의 수고를 맛으로 즐길 준비를 하게 된다.

🐟 Today’s Harvest — The Moment Before Filleting the Walleye

These are the walleye we caught today. Their scales shimmered with a silvery glow, and their bodies were firm and full of strength—just what you would expect from fish freshly pulled from the cold waters of Lake Erie. Before filleting them, I paused to take a photo, hoping to capture the freshness of the moment. Seeing the day’s harvest laid out before me brought a deep sense of satisfaction that only an angler can truly understand. In just a little while, we would clean and fillet them, ready to enjoy the well-earned taste of today’s efforts.

🌫️ 이리 호수 너머로 보이는 데이비스 원자력발전소

오하이오 주 최북서쪽, 디트로이트와 가까운 지점에 이르자 "데이비스 원자력발전소의 쿨링타워(Cooling Tower)"가 수평선 너머로 모습을 드러냈다. 멀리서 보면 작은 실루엣처럼 보이지만, 실제로는 거대한 구조물로 이 지역의 중요한 에너지 시설이다. 이 쿨링타워는 원자로에서 터빈을 돌리고 난 뒤 되돌아오는 고온의 증기(Steam)를 완전히 냉각시켜 물로 되돌리는 역할을 한다. 호수의 물을 펌프로 끌어올려 타워 내부 벽면 위쪽으로 흘려보내면, 위에서 떨어지는 차가운 물과 파이프 안의 뜨거운 증기가 만나 열교환이 일어난다. 이 과정에서 증기는 다시 물로 응축되고, 그 물은 다시 원자로로 보내져 순환을 이어간다. 이리 호수의 넓은 수면 위로 우뚝 솟은 쿨링타워를 바라보고 있자니, 자연의 힘과 인간의 기술이 한곳에서 만나는 장면이 묘하게 인상적이었다. 호수의 고요함 속에서 거대한 시설이 묵묵히 제 역할을 수행하는 모습은 여행 중 만난 또 하나의 특별한 풍경이었다.

🌫️ The Davis Nuclear Power Plant Seen Beyond Lake Erie

As we reached the northwestern tip of Ohio, near the Detroit area, the cooling tower of the Davis Nuclear Power Plant appeared faintly beyond the horizon. From a distance it looked like a small silhouette, but in reality it is a massive structure and one of the key energy facilities in the region.

This cooling tower plays a crucial role in condensing the high‑temperature steam that returns after driving the turbine in the reactor. Lake water is pumped up and released along the upper interior walls of the tower, where the falling cold water meets the hot steam traveling through the pipes. Through this heat‑exchange process, the steam condenses back into water, which is then returned to the reactor to continue the cycle. Seeing the cooling tower rising above the vast surface of Lake Erie created a striking scene where the forces of nature and human engineering seemed to meet. Amid the calmness of the lake, the silent presence of this enormous facility performing its essential task became one of the memorable sights of the trip.

낚을 때의 그 스릴은 해보지 않으면 모르는데..
그렇게 철저하게 법을 지킨다니 부럽다.
우리나라 낚시꾼들은 안된다고 하는 무인도 바위섬에 괭이갈매기가
낳은 알까지 훔쳐온다고 하던데.. 그걸 보면 아직 우린 많이 멀었다.

낚시하는날 내 평생에 이렇게 크 민물고기 잡기는 처음이었는데..
그 이후 직장 보스는 Dog Show 에 출전하는 순종의 개를 훈련시키느라
캠프와 보트도 전부 처리했다. 나 역시 낚시 한번 더 해본적이 없다.
그 때가 마지막이었다.

고기의 크기를 보니 낚아 올릴때 손으로 느끼는 쾌감이 대단했겠어...
쾌감을 느끼는 낚시질을 해 본지가 언제인가...?
대통령 취임식에 참여 할 정도이면
실력이 대단한 편인것 같은데

"월라이" 라는 민물 고기인데.. 1파운데에 10불 할 정도로 비싸편이지만
맛은 조기는 근처도 못갈 미국인들이 제일좋아하는 생선이다. 포를 뜨서
냉장고에 보관해 주고 잊는 바람에 후에 꺼내어 먹을려니 맛이 갔드라. ^^
