Bara ~ Bodh Gaya

인도순례 첫 코스 마지막 날이다.
이 날은 지도에서 보건대 전통적인 농촌마을들을 경유하는 코스여서 기대가 있었는데,
아니나 다를까 서울 떠난지 가장 뿌듯함을 느낀 하루였다.
Today's course was the last one of the first section.
When I investigated on the map, today's course was supposed to pass through traditional villages which gave me expectation. It was right! Today was the most fruitful day since I left Seoul.

출발하자 마자 첫동네에서 마주친 젊은 학생들
Right after the start, I met youths in the first village.
이른 아침인데도 동네 청년들이 모여들었다.
부지런한 청년들이다.
It was early in the morning. But diligent youths flocked.
조금 지나치니까 운동장에서 즐기는 청소년들이 많다.
노는 것도 아침 일찍 하는 것은 좋은 습관이다.
After a while, I met youths playing in the ground.
Playing early is a good practice.
아이들이 맨먼저 호기심을 갖는다.
Children showed curiosity first.
그 다음에 다가온 청년들
Next, youths came to me.
아예 지도현수막을 펼치고 설명.
I explainded about pilgrimage after spreading the large map.
사설학원쯤 되어 보인다.
수업개시전 시간이었는지 학생들이 몰려 나왔다.
It looks like private tutoring institute.
Probably it was before the session starts. Students poured out to us.
아예 계단위에 올라가서 하라상과 지도를 펼쳐놓고 본격적으로 설명한다.
I went up to the stairs and explained about the prilgrimage with Mr. Hara who was holding the map.
이 장면을 누군가가 동영상으로 찍었다.
Somebody took the session with video camera.
본 카페에도 올렸다.

전형적인 농촌 풍경이 시작된다.
Now typical appearance of country landscape starts.
볏짚을 자르기도 하고, 탈곡한 낱알을 휘날려 먼지를 휘날리게하고 알곡만 떨어지게 하는 바람개비 수동모터다.
A hand motor is used for cutting rice straw, or threshing grain.
어느 마을의 아이들과 함께 어울렸다.
At a village, I took a picture with the children.
볏가리가 나무그늘 사이에 있다.
A pile of rice straw is at the shade under the tree.
건기여서 말라버린 수로옆으로 나란히 길이 나 있다.
It was dry season. The waterway was dry and changed to a road.
수로옆이 아닌데도 이런 직선길도 볼 수 있는 것은 인도땅이 커다란 평원이기 때문일 터이다.
It was not side of waterway.
However, I could find such a straight road often because India was a large flat continent.
하라상이 한적한 길을 걷고 있는 모습.
Mr. Hara is walking at quiet road.
소똥 말린 것은 농촌의 귀중한 취사연료다. 뿐만 아니라 소독청결의 용도로도 쓰인다고 한다.
잘 말리는 일이 그만큼 중요하다.
Dung of cattle was used for fuel in the countryside.
In addition, the dung was used for cleaning work.
Therefore, it was very important to dry the dung well.
중요한 수입원인 물소들이 집단 사육되고 있다.
They were feeding water buffalo for commercial purpose.
이 논은 먹을 게 많은가 보다.
This rice paddy supplies much food for the cranes, I guess.
멧돼지를 가축처럼 길들이는 이들도 있다.
Some people feed wild boar just like dometic animals.
남쪽 분위기가 물씬 풍기는 비포장의 깨끗한 길
This road is unpaved and clean. and reminds me of southern atmosphere.
커다란 강이지만 건기여서 메마른 상태다.
징검다리를 건너는 필자를 하라상이 잘 찍었다.
Though it was a large river, it had little water because it was a dry season.
Mr. Hara took a nice picture of me walking on stepping-stone.

Naive children carry bricks.
언제 어디서 다시 만날까?
When can we meet again?
어느 동네 청년들과 어울렸다.
I made friends with youths of a village.
이 마을에 이르러서 귀빈대접을 받았다.
At this village, they treated us as special guests.
필자와 함께 서있는 이 분은 학교선생님이다. 일본어도 가르치고 있고, 일본에도 몇번 다녀왔다고 한다. 하라상과 금방 친해졌다.
The man standing by me is the school teacher.
He teaches Japanese, and he has been to Japan several time.
He became friend with Mr. Hara immediately.
그는 우리를 보자마자 혹시 먹을 것이 필요하지 않느냐고 묻는다.
그렇지 않아도 점심때가 되어 먹을 곳을 찾던중이어서 반갑기 그지 없었다.
He asked us, "Do you need some food to eat?"
Since it was lunch time, it sounded like a good news.
그는 이 집안 뿐 아니라 마을의 리더 같았다.
짜이와 다과들을 겸한 식사를 마친 후 필자가 지도현수막을 펼치고 영어로 설명하자
그가 다시 힌디어로 마을 사람들에게 설명한다.
He looked like a leader of the village.
We enjoyed food and fruits and chai. After lunch, I explainded pilgrimage in English.
Then he translated it into Hindu to the villagers.
보드가야에 거의 다와서 정미소를 만났다.
인도의 햇쌀을 맛보라고 해서 맛보는 장면을 하라상이 찍었다.
Near Bodh Gaya, we arrived at a rice mill.
They told us to taste new rice. I tried it, and Mr. Hara took a picture of the moment.
뿌듯한 하루를 보내고 무사히 보드가야에 도착했다.
We spent a fruitful day, and arrived at Bodh Gaya safely.
내일은 하루 푹 쉬고
모레 부처님 성불하신 곳을 칮아뵐 예정이다.
We will take a day of rest tomorrow.
We will go to the place of Buddha's Enlightenment on the day after tomorrow.
