인도에 온 후 두번째로 겪는 난코스가 등장했다.
이곳에서부터 상당한 구간에는 숙소를 찾을 수 없다.
110 km 전방에 겨우 숙소로 삼을만한 호텔이 있다.
거기로 예약해놓고 모두 5개구간의 20여km씩 세분하여 닷새동안 양쪽 거점에서 버스로 이동하면서 도보순례를 진행할 수밖에 없다.
이곳 바이샬리의 스리랑카 사원에서 운영하는 저렴한 유료숙소(500루피)에서 사흘간 머물면서 첫 사흘의 구간은 이곳에서 버스로 왕래한다.
Today, I encountered second difficult course since I came to India.
From here on, I can't find a lodging along the course.
At a distance of 110 km, there is a shelter which I can contact.
I made a reservation of the hotel.
I have to move from starting point to ending point by bus for 5 sections, each having 20 km.
I decided to stay for 3 days at a cheap shelter (500 Rupee for one night)
which is operated by Sri Lanka Temple in Vaishali.
For the first 3 days I have to shuttle by bus from shelter to the destination.
첫날은 좀 많이 걸어두어야 한다. 버스이동시간이 거의 없기 때문이다.
First day I have to walk as long as possible, because there is not enough time for bus shuttle.

I took a picture with a kind guide (front in the picture) of Vaishali.
5키로 걸은후 도착한 Manakpur 교차로에서, 호기심 가득한 청년들에게 순례를 설명한 후 감탄하는 그들에게 과감한 제안을 하였다.
하루 함께 걸어보지 않겠느냐고? 20km니까 당신들도 가능할 거라고~
"Let's go together!"
그중 한명이 솔깃해하는 표정이다. 그에게 내일 출발장소와 시간을 알려주었다.
After walking 5 km, I arrived at Manakpur intersection.
There I met a group of youths and talked about Silk Road pilgrimage.
They exclaimed to hear my explanation. And I proposed them a bold suggestion.
"Let's go together!"
One of the youths seemd to be interested in my suggestion.
I told him about the starting time and starting plalce of tomorrow's course.
하지만 두껑은 열어봐야 안다. 내일아침이 궁금하다. 함께 흑백으로 기념사진 한컷.
I wonder whether he will appear or not tomorrow morning.
I took a black & white picture with the youths.
Kushinagar로 향하는 이 길은 정비가 잘 되어 있다.
The road leading to Kushinagar is well maintained.
아담한 찻집에서 짜이를 마신다.
I drank a cup of chai at an elegant tea-room.

들녁에 봄이 오기 시작한 것일까.
Is spring coming in the field already?
이 지역의 인물에 대한 기념식인 듯 하다.
It seems to be a memorial ceremony of a celebrity of this region.
아이들이 많은 동네다.
There are many children in this village.
반부패 캠페인을 벌이는 기관의 현수막이다.
헌법적 권리를 위해 싸우자는 구호도 들어 있다.
A placard about anti-corruption campaign is posted.
One of the slogans reads "Let's fight for the constitutional rights."
날씨가 추운 기간은 짧지만 난방시스템이 없는 이 나라에서는 이 시기를 넘기는 일이 쉬운 것은 아니다. 여러 사람이 모여서 모닥불을 쬐고 있는 모습이 많이 보인다.
Though the duration of cold days is short, it seems to be very hard for them
to overcome the cold because they don't have heating system.
I could find people surrounding the bonfire frequently.
이 가운데 울고 있는 아이에게 필자가 손짓을 한다. 이리로 오라는. 와서 나와 함께 가자는 시늉을 한다. 아이는 무슨 뜻인지 단박에 알아차린다. 그리고는 놀라서 도망을 가거나 엄마뒤로 숨는다. 가족들이 파안대소 한다.
I waved to a crying child to come. I gestured "Let's go with me."
The child understood my gesture. He tried to run away or hide in the back of his mother.
The family surrounding him burst into laughter.
그러고 보니 이날 여러 차례 말을 걸었다. "Let's go together"
Today I said "Let's go togetther" several times.
불교 반야심경의 마지막구절
"아제아제 바라아제 바라승아제 모지사바하"
의 뜻을 필자는 다음과 같이 해석한다.
"가자 가자 우리가 바라는 세상으로 함께 이루어가자"
The last verse of Heart Sutra goes like this,
"gate, gate, paragate, parasamagate, bodhi svaha."
I would like to translate this verse like this.
"Let's go. Let's go. Let's go to the world we wish to come."
